At the beginning of February, representatives of the United States Embassy in Latvia visited the association Shelter “Safe House”.
During the meeting, the team from Shelter “Safe House” discussed with the guests their main areas of activity: preventing human trafficking and providing assistance to newcomers.
They talked about the current situation in Latvia, the work done so far in trafficking prevention and rehabilitation of survivors, and also informed the visitors about planned activities for 2026.
Attention was also paid to working with asylum seekers and refugees, noting the need for sustainable support mechanisms and international cooperation.
The meeting took place in a constructive and professional atmosphere. Shelter “Safe House” confirmed its readiness to continue cooperation and dialogue in the future, strengthening the support system and promoting human rights protection in Latvia.
