5th February - campaign in Riga Central Railway Station/ sc Origo!

We informing, that at 5th February from 11:30 to 14:00 in Riga Central Railway Station/ s/c Origo (Station Square 2, Riga) will consist an interactive campaign "Fake marriage – a trap!", during which society will have opportunity to learn more about human trafficking form – fake marriages, and also receive advice from professionals.

The society “Shelter “Safe House” campaigns “Fake marriage – a trap! ", which began in the 19th January, are planned in four places - Riga International Airport "(22.01.) Riga Passenger Port (01.29.), the Riga Central Railway Station / t/c ORIGO (05.02.) and the Riga International Bus Terminal (12.02.). The aim of these activities: place information in those points from which people are going away from the Latvian, to inform the public about the risks of entering into fake marriages with non-Latvian nationals of third countries nationals for or without consideration.
Interactive activities are carried out during the survey to determine public awareness of the problem, as well as advice.

Currently, the information campaign "Fake marriages a trap!" is supported by Philip Morris Latvia, Tallink Hotel Riga, Riga Internations Bus Terminal, Latvia Railway, sc Origo, Riga International Airport, Riga Passenger Port. The society “Shelter “Safe House” is the only organization that from 2007 has won the right to provide State-funded social rehabilitation services for victims of human trafficking and will continue till 2011. Last year the association was gratitude for the important work of human trafficking prevention and control from the Latvian Ministry of Interior of the Republic . 2011 The society “Shelter “Safe House” was presented Award "for innovative work in the public good". from the U.S. embassy in Latvia.
