Creative master-class in Daugavpils

On 20 January 2017, the volunteers of the association “Shelter ‘Safe House’” visited Daugavpils and, during the master-class, met non-member country citizens in person. When asked about the most noteworthy cultural and creative figure in Daugavpils, all participants agreed on the artist Rothko. It was collectively decided that each one of us could be a Latvian Rothko and thus the master-class “Me as Rothko in Latvia” was created. In the master-class, each participant created their own geometrical shape. The newly created figure was coloured in with the carmine red and white of the Latvian flag and transferred to black cardboard. By working together we created art! Soon the non-member country citizens will lead their own cooperation initiative in Daugavpils by volunteering as master-class leaders.
