Gift wrapping workshop “Star in the East”

On 29 November 2016, the volunteers of the association “Shelter ‘Safe House’” lead the initiative of a gift wrapping workshop during which gifts were made for children living in refugee shelters in Egypt and Jordan. The idea occurred to the volunteers when they learned that the charity campaign “Star in the East” is taking place that year. The workshop was attended by priest Pēteris Eisāns who spoke about the emergence of the charity campaign idea and shared his stories from his experience in refugee camps in Jordan. The volunteers had the opportunity to ask questions about the upcoming journey and the recommended contents of the gifts to make the children truly happy. The workshop had a very sincere atmosphere and many warm thoughts and well wishes were put into the making of the small gifts.
