Looking at the latest news series for the Information Center for Newcomers, you will see how the first immigrants from Ukraine gathered in Liepaja some time ago. More than 100 people, both adults and children, attended the Open Day.
This is hot working hours for Līga Krēsliņa, the head of the regional contact point “Kurzeme”. But her everyday responsibilities are not just a bunch of urgent work – it is providing help to real people seeking asylum in Latvia.
Already after recording this video, the head of the contact point received the following feedback:
“Hello, Līga! I want to express my gratitude to you for the necessary and useful information, for your help and support, to us - people who find themselves far from their native land - Ukraine, torn from their usual life by the war.
Your work is important and necessary – people are people when they help each other.
Thanks to the social center for migrants in Liepaja, thanks to all the employees who professionally and promptly perform their duties.
Peace and Goodness to you and your families!
Sincerely, Victoria”
