“This time the common theme of Open Afternoons of the Information Centre for Newcomers (ICN) is networking and inter-cultural relations, so that visitors can make mutual acquaintance, enjoy the inter-cultural environment and participate in various activities and games that promote inter-cultural relations, and receive useful information from our customer consultants and cooperation partners”, tells Gunta Viksne (Gunta Vīksne), Head of the Information Centre for Newcomers. Events will take place in all regions of Latvia from 19 November to 4 December - in Ventspils, Cesis, Daugavpils, Jelgava and Riga.
Students and newcomers, who are third country nationals, along with representatives of various societies representing national minorities are especially welcome.

Ventspils
Venue: Saules Street 19, Ventspils (on the premises of Investment and Development Agency of Latvia)
Time: 19 November, from 15:00 to 18:00
Topics: Employment of Foreigners in Latvia, Legislative Amendments. During the event an ICN customer consultant will provide legal consultations.

Topics: Using the living library we will tell the inhabitants of Cesis, how many representatives of various cultures live side by side in the small Latvian town of Cesis. Several experience stories explaining the reasons their authors chose Latvia as their domicile will be presented in the course of the evening. We will enjoy flavours of various countries too.

Welcome!
ICN began its work as a one-stop-agency on 18 May 2016. ICN Riga office operates as a coordinating centre in Latvia. It provides assistance in dealing with problems of a particular customer and supports the ICN focal points/branches in the regions (in Cesis, Jelgava, Liepaja and Daugavpils) with regard to provision of services, ensures professional support to service providers in all municipalities in Latvia, coordinates awareness and availability of services to various groups of immigrants.
The activity of the Information Centre for Newcomers within the framework of the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund is ensured and developed by the NGO “Shelter “Safe House””. The centre is co-funded by the European Union. Grant Agreement No. PMIF/12/2017/2/01.
