On 3 June, the Information Centre for Newcomers invited to an Open Day at the Jelgava City Library. The event was attended by newcomers from Ukraine - both adults and children - and everyone was taken care of.
Iveta Dembovska, Head of the Contact Point "Zemgale", presented the work of the Information Centre for newcomers. She is also the one who knows best the possibilities of assistance in Jelgava. Iveta had also prepared a delicious treat.
Santa Daņiļčenko, educational psychologist of the "Teenagers Resource Centre", told about the possibilities of psychological support for teenagers and their parents.
The visitors asked questions about life in Latvia, available support and Latvian legislation to Gita Mirushkina, a lawyer at the Information Centre for Newcomers,.
At the end of the event, all the participants took part in an interesting game. This game took place in the framework of a non-formal education activity. Using special cards, the players talked about themselves and listened to the person sitting opposite them. The dialogue brought people together and created a warm, cosy atmosphere.
